Task 2 Where are they- How will they find me?

Based on the principles that have been introduced so far in the Enterprise module, as well as the previous tasks, investigate, analyse and critically evaluate where your potential clients are located.

Identify four examples of your selected client group. One from each of the following - Local, National, European, Transnational. Use PEST analysis.

Chosen client group: music / social culture / movie magazines.

Local: Hull (my town) -Ten foot city magazine.

Political Factors: The magazine is funded by local advertisers - working in partnership almost to try and keep each other running - the magazine is to promote local bands and entertainment in the city.
Economic Factors: Businesses struggling at the moment may not have constant cash to keep advertising themselves in a small magazine that is found primarily in local bars and clubs and may use their money to advertise elsewhere.
Social Factors: Because this magazine is free and the places in which is left to be taken such as bars, clubs and venues it makes it more accessible for the young people who venture here. The graphics inside must appeal to those interested in social culture.
Technological Factors: Easily distributed amongst the city through the large amount of venue/band promoters etc so is easily accessible and they have a facebook / myspace page which makes the information highly accessible too.

National: Little White Lies

Political Factors: Isn't really affected by government policy and is mainly a review / opinions magazine so they have to be careful on some level not to totally destroy a movie with their opinions - possibly getting sued as this magazine is seen nationally and online.
Economic Factors: It has a large subscription base and it's name is getting much bigger and more well known which is making it snowball - this will ultimately keep the magazine running.
Social Factors: The magazine promotes various films that are on over the 2 months the issue is out for and it targets a young audience interested in film. The illustration / colour / layout has to appeal to this audience to have aesthetic appeal rather than draw attention.
Technological Factors: It's quite a low subscription price and it isn't really competing against many other film magazines that would appeal to members of the design community - which is a large community at that.
